Solvang Wineries in December.....


The Silvas wine tasted their way through Solvang during the beautiful month of December. Visiting the wineries after the major storm that came through California brought color and beauty to the vines. We highly recommend wandering through the Danish town during the Christmas season. Be sure to visit the open air theatre for the Christmas Pagent play that is free to all and the live singing floats through the town as you wander among the city of white lights!

Thanksgiving Splendor!

Thanksgiving is a time for family and being thankful for the simple things in life... health, happiness and having those you love around you. Our extended family includes those who live in Palm Springs. About 5 years ago the ritual of Thanksgiving moved to the desert. This year was especially wonderful as we experienced the desert during the rain storm that hit California the week of Thanksgiving. The morning of Thanksgiving it rained in earnest and then it cleared and we were treated to the visual splendor of stunning blue skies and luminous clouds. The Silvas share their well wishes to you and your loved ones during this holiday season!

"A Taste of the Arts" Fundraiser - September 13, 2008

On Saturday, September 13, 2008, the Bell Arts Factory (home of Silva and Silva's studio) is holding "A Taste of the Arts," a fund-raising event aimed to benefit BAF's free youth arts & culture classes, and community events.

The event runs from 3:00 to 9:00 pm and will feature live music by Conjunto Zacamandu and The Convertibles, a dance demonstration by "Ballet Folklorico - Bell Arts", open art studios and food provided by a variety of Downtown Ventura restaurants, including Aloha Steakhouse, Savory Cafe & Bakery, Cajun Kitchen Cafe, Anacapa Brewery, Nature's Grill and Crowne Plaza.

Tickets are $10 each with all the proceeds going to benefit the Bell Arts Factory non-profit organization. Stop by, tour the studios, sample some great food and help support BAF's youth arts programs.

Broughton Quarterly - Summer 2008

Silva and Silva appears in the Summer issue of Broughton Quarterly.

In addition to the cover, we supplied editorial photos for the "Notes" shopping section and "One Man's Castle," a story on Nitt Witt Ridge--an amazing and eccentric house built from recycled and found objects. "Imagine...A Night of Compassion"

On Saturday, March 1, 2008, Silva and Silva Photography were proud to be the official photographers as the National Charity League Juniors of Ventura held their annual fundraiser.

Titled "Imagine...A Night of Compassion," the event was held in the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley and included an amazing dinner, live performance by The Fab Four and silent and live auctions.

All the proceeds from the event went to benefit the Children's Blood Disease and Cancer program at Ventura County Medical Center.

Ventana Monthly - March 2008

Silva and Silva Photography was proud to supply the cover and accompanying photos for the feature story in this month's Ventana Monthly. The story features local actor, writer and director Peter Fox. Peter's current production is “Acts of God,” which is appearing at the Ojai Theatre.

National Charity League Fundraiser

Silva and Silva Photography are pleased to donate their services to the National Charity League , Juniors of Ventura for their annual fundraiser.

Imagine...A Night of Compassion, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008, in the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA.

The event will include live entertainment, silent and live auctions and the Big Chance Raffle
(win a trip to Hawaii!)

All the proceeds from the event will benefit the Children's Blood Disease and Cancer program at Ventura County Medical Center.
